Abdul Muis Safua

Abdul Muis Safua, often called Muis, is a graduate of the Muhammadiyah University of Sorong with a study program in Aquatic Resources Management. He has worked as a Fisheries enumerator at WWF Indonesia in Inanwatan, South Sorong and a Sustainable Fisheries Assistant at Conservation International Indonesia and Konservasi Indonesia at MPA Kaimana for approximately 3 years with a focus on providing technical support to fisheries association groups, implementing sustainable fisheries programs in the Kaimana Marine Conservation Area and collaborating with BLUD UPTD KKPD Kaimana – Fakfak and supporting outreach activities and Environmental Education to youth and student groups in the Conservation Area and is happy to be actively involved in several youth groups that are engaged in voicing environmental issues and sustainable natural resource management.

Muis is currently focusing on the implementation of the USAID Ber-Ikan and USAID Kolektif projects which in general ensure activities related to coastal community empowerment and strengthening local institutions in supporting fisheries management and improving sustainable livelihoods in the Bird’s Head region of Papua.
