Miere Tribe Customary Forest Proposal Meeting

Two clans of the Miere tribe, Awujani and Maramoy, held a customary meeting to agree on the areas to be proposed as customary forests that would be recognized by the state. This activity was carried out to answer the mandate of the Governor of West Papua Province Regulation No. 25 of 2021 concerning Procedures for Determining Recognition of Customary Law Communities and Customary Territories. The customary meeting was held in Rurumo Village, Teluk Etna District, Kaimana Regency, attended by 157 clan representatives from 10 villages and also attended by representatives from the South Cave Tribe who wished to witness firsthand the process of proposing an area of customary territory.
