Indigenous people have been preserving nature for generations. Strengthening their economic independence will ensure nature is increasingly protected. EcoNusa Foundation supports the first export of nutmeg carried out by the Kamboti Rempah Maluku Cooperative in partnership PT Kobumi to the Netherlands. A total of 7 tons of nutmeg and 2 tons of nutmeg exported came from farmers in the Banda and Seram Islands. Since the beginning of this year, the Kamboti Rempah Maluku Cooperative together with PT Kobumi have also sent nutmeg to Surabaya and Jakarta, which was then sent to China, Vietnam and the Middle East. The nutmeg exports involved 3000 farmers from Maluku.
