Initiatives to protect the environment have become an integral part of local wisdom and the daily lives of indigenous communities in the Land of Papua and the Maluku Archipelagos. These stories were shared at IDEAFEST 2023 in a discussion session entitled “Sow and Grow: Grassroot Solutions for a Greener Tomorrow” (29/9) Excitement occurs from participant related to the various efforts made by indigenous communities in Papua and Maluku Islands in fighting for their rights and protecting their nature, through customary territory mapping, non-timber local commodities farming, and conducting various local wisdoms such as egek, sasi, and kewang.
