Launching of Public Perception Research on Measured Fishing and Small Scale Fisheries

Small-scale fishermen are the backbone of Indonesia’s fishery needs. On this World Ocean Day, EcoNusa unveiled the results of collaborative researches on WPP 714, 715 and 718 with the Politeknik Kelautan dan Perikanan Maluku, Universitas Muhammadiyah Maluku, dan Universitas Pattimura Ambon. These researches were conducted to study and analyze the condition of small-scale fisheries in the three WPPs and to find out the perceptions of the small-scale fishing community towards Measurable Catch Policy. Moreover, 2 Small Scale Fisheries Researches were also conducted in Ternate Island with Khairun University, Ternate. Both studies aimed to  assess the development status of small-scale tuna fisheries on Ternate Island.
