The EcoNusa Foundation, in collaboration with the local government, indigenous leaders, and the communities of Inanwatan District, held a workshop on Participatory Mapping of Customary Lands and Fisheries Development in Mate Village (Suabo Tribe) and Isogo Village (Iwaro Tribe) from January 20-22, 2024. The workshop aimed to identify customary land boundaries and strengthen sustainable resource management based on local wisdom.
The outcomes of this activity included participatory mapping of customary territories, the development of shrimp potential as a key local commodity, and the drafting of regulations to support coastal restoration efforts. This program reinforced customary land rights and promoted a green economy through collaboration between indigenous communities, the government, and EcoNusa. This initiative marks a strategic step toward achieving inclusive and sustainable resource management in Inanwatan District.
