The Capacity Building and Standardization Training Program for Homestays in Raja Ampat, initiated by coNusa Foundation, aims to support homestay operators from indigenous communities and preserve Papua’s traditional cuisine. This training equips homestay owners with knowledge on utilizing local ingredients to reinforce cultural identity.
Additionally, EcoNusa Foundation, through EcoFund, provides rolling funds to homestay operators to develop their businesses in accordance with tourism standards. This funding facilitates the enhancement of facilities and services, allowing homestays to better meet tourist expectations and increase their appeal.
The training is anticipated to create economic opportunities for local communities, especially for homestay operators. This support also contributes to preserving Papua’s cultural identity by conserving traditional cuisine and encourages the younger generation to continue maintaining their culinary traditions amidst evolving times.
