AMJI Series 2024
As a form of youth commitment in restoring forest and marine ecosystems in reducing the impact of the climate crisis and supporting the Indonesian government’s mission to achieve the Net Zero Emission mission in 2050 and welcoming the spirit of young people towards #100TahunSupahPemuda. Aksi Muda Jaga Iklim targets 30,000 young people, with the spirit of 96 years of the Youth Pledge, organizing hundreds of collaborative actions both online and offline carried out collectively throughout 2024. Currently there are 1200 points throughout Indonesia!
The Youth Action Series to Protect the Climate consists of:
- Collaborative Action to Protect the Climate (Road to AMJI) during February – October 2024
- Simultaneous Action on October 26, 2024, currently there are 1200 points throughout Indonesia
- Plastic Monster Parade in 5 major cities
Plastic Monster Parade at AMJI 2024
The existence of plastic waste, especially single-use plastic in Indonesia is very worrying. The large amount of this waste not only damages the terrestrial environment, but also the waters of the archipelago. Waste in the Indonesian sea is now a specter in itself, as if haunting us in the form of a monster born from a collection of plastic. Since 2019, several environmental organizations have made this Plastic Monster a symbol of the “horror” of single-use plastic waste. The hope is that it will strengthen public awareness about the dangers of single-use plastic waste, and urge the government to take real action on this plastic waste issue.
In the framework of AMJI 2024, the Sea Guard will also hold a Plastic Monster Parade in 5 major cities in Indonesia. Let’s enliven the Plastic Monster parade in your city!!!
